Terms and Conditions for Assistance

Effective Date: July 3, 2025

The following Assistance Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between Relief Alliance (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and any individual (“Applicant,” “you,” or “your”) who applies for or receives charitable assistance, services, or support from Relief Alliance. By submitting an application, referral, or request for help, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

Relief Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting American families in need. We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms at any time.

  1. Eligibility and Verification

Assistance from Relief Alliance is limited to individuals or families residing in the United States who demonstrate legitimate need. Relief Alliance prioritizes assistance for American citizens, and proof of identity and eligibility may be required.

Applicants may be asked to submit documentation including, but not limited to:

  • Valid government-issued ID
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful status (see “RA Citizenship Proof”)
  • Income verification
  • Rental agreements or mortgage statements
  • Medical records or hardship letters
  • Bank statements or financial affidavits

All information provided must be truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge. Submitting false or misleading information is grounds for denial or revocation of assistance and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

  1. Application Process and Review

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or funding. All applications are subject to availability of resources, the discretion of Relief Alliance, and alignment with our mission and funding priorities.

Applications are reviewed in good faith, and Relief Alliance may:

  • Approve full or partial assistance
  • Refer applicants to partner organizations
  • Place applicants on a waitlist
  • Decline the request

We reserve the right to request additional information at any stage and to conduct interviews, home visits, or background verifications when necessary.

  1. Use of Funds and Program Restrictions

Assistance provided by Relief Alliance may come in the form of:

  • Direct financial aid
  • Payments made to landlords, service providers, or medical institutions
  • Gift cards, supplies, or donated goods
  • Temporary housing, referrals, or media-based campaigns for visibility

You agree to use any funds or resources provided solely for the purpose specified at the time of approval. Misuse of assistance may result in immediate termination of support and disqualification from future aid.

Funds are not transferable, and any unspent or unused aid may need to be returned or reallocated at our discretion.

  1. No Entitlement or Guarantee

Relief Alliance provides assistance voluntarily and conditionally based on need, resources, and discretion. No application or approval shall be construed as an entitlement, ongoing obligation, or contractual right.

We do not guarantee continued or future assistance. Past support does not ensure future eligibility.

  1. Behavior and Representation

By applying for assistance, you agree to:

  • Treat Relief Alliance staff, volunteers, and partners with respect
  • Refrain from harassment, threats, or coercive behavior
  • Represent your situation honestly and respectfully
  • Avoid using your association with Relief Alliance for personal promotion, unauthorized fundraising, or false claims

Disrespectful conduct, exploitation, or defamation may result in the denial or revocation of assistance.

  1. Publicity and Story Sharing

Relief Alliance often shares stories to raise awareness and build community support. If you voluntarily agree to share your story, image, or testimonial, you grant Relief Alliance the right to use that content for promotional, educational, or fundraising purposes.

You may opt out of public storytelling at any time by contacting info@reliefalliance.org in writing. Consent is never required as a condition of receiving aid.

  1. Partnerships and Referrals

Relief Alliance may collaborate with other nonprofit organizations, donors, foundations, or media outlets to fulfill requests. You acknowledge that we may share relevant information with partners strictly for the purpose of securing aid or opportunities on your behalf.

All shared information will be limited to what is necessary and governed by appropriate privacy practices.

  1. Termination of Assistance

Relief Alliance reserves the right to deny, delay, reduce, or terminate assistance at any time for any of the following reasons:

  • Ineligibility or failure to provide required documentation
  • Misuse of funds or dishonesty in the application
  • Abusive or disrespectful behavior toward staff or volunteers
  • Violation of these Terms
  • Funding limitations or resource shortages

Decisions of Relief Alliance are final and not subject to appeal.

  1. Confidentiality and Privacy

We are committed to maintaining your privacy. Personal information submitted through an assistance application will only be used to evaluate your request and deliver services. We do not sell or trade your information.

For details, see our full Privacy Policy.

  1. Limitation of Liability

Relief Alliance shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of or related to your application, receipt (or denial) of assistance, or participation in any program. Support is provided “as-is” and without warranties of any kind.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any legal dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Florida.
